The ledge was silent. There was nothing moving except for the wind, and the snow that it was blowing into the air. A paw stepped down at the very end of the ledge, and the wolf looked down. His golden eyes focused on the path he decided to take downward. It would hopefully take him to the alpine mountains, and then a couple more miles and he would reach the beach. That’s where he needed to be, instead of this snow mountain. He had misjudged its beauty for its weather. It was a mistake that he would have to learn from.
For the several years that he had been alone, such a thing was becoming quite dull. The eerie silence was growing monotonous, and he was growing impatient. He longed to find a pack, maybe even rule his own. He knew that he had the leader’s spirit inside of him. That was his father’s fault. If he ever was to join a pack, he would surely cause chaos with the alpha.
He treaded onward, each step closer to his far away destination. About an hour later, he stopped. As the snow-filled wind whipped across his face, he decided that his best bet might be trying to get the pack to find him. As he found another ledge where he knew it would cause and echo, he lifted his head and let loose a wild, untamed song. It carried on for nearly sixty seconds until it finally drifted away into the atmosphere. He gazed into the white distance, where he desperately awaited for an answer.
